Requirements

  • Experience in supply chain management, particularly in pharmaceutical or biotech environments interfacing with CMOs (Contract Manufacturing Organizations)
  • Strong relationship-building skills with external CMO counterparts and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to lead supply chain-related meetings and participate in Virtual Plant Team (VPT), CMO, and BMS Supply Chain meetings
  • Proficiency in metrics reporting, forecasting review, and action item generation for performance improvement
  • Knowledge of supply priorities determination, capacity constraints management, and risk mitigation
  • Expertise in handling change controls, back orders, supply delays, quality events, and new SKU introductions
  • Effective communication and escalation skills across ExM and Global Supply Chain teams

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining/developing strong relationships with supply chain counterparts at CMOs and internal BMS stakeholders to facilitate continuous performance improvement
  • Participate in Virtual Plant team meetings, CMO face-to-face meetings, and lead supply chain-related meetings with CMO as required
  • Participate in BMS Supply Chain meetings as required to ensure alignment on BMS customer requirements
  • Serve as point of escalation for other Supply Chain functions including ExM Customer Planning, ExM Planning, ExM Logistics, Market Supply Planning, and Inventory Control teams
  • Prepare Supply Chain-related topics for discussion at CMO business reviews and represent BMS Supply Chain at relevant business reviews
  • Accountable for CMO supply chain metrics; report metrics to CMO, VPT, and within ExM Supply Chain; generate action items to resolve performance below target
  • Review relevant CMO forecasts for significant changes, communicate major changes and background to VPT and CMO, and communicate forecasts to CMO
  • Determine supply priorities through interaction with wider ExM and Global Supply Chain teams and communicate these to the CMO
  • Understand supplier capacity constraints in short, medium, and long term; aid resolution and escalate to VPT and BMS Supply Chain Management as necessary
  • Hold VPT accountable for continuity of supply and mitigation of risk to customers
  • Communicate inventory risks to ExM inventory control and finance teams in a timely manner
  • For finished goods, support ExM Supply Chain with new SKU introduction (line extensions) to meet market requirements
  • Review CMO-related change controls to understand supply chain impact, assign relevant child actions, engage with ExM planning teams to manage/mitigate supply restrictions, and align with Global Planning
  • Proactively aid in mitigation of Back Orders and Anticipated Back Orders with relevant CMO to ensure continuity of supply
  • Communicate and coordinate activities to determine impact of supply delays, quality events, line shutdowns, projects (e.g., Serialization) on supply to customers; engage with other Supply Chain functions and mitigate impacts
  • Effectively communicate, escalate, manage relevant stakeholders, and implement standard ExM communication tools
