Experienced and strategic leader capable of building and leading a new Credit Risk Vertical focused on seller credit risk
Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating credit risk using data analytics, behavioral patterns, and financial indicators
Strong team leadership skills, including mentoring, performance management, career development, and hiring risk analysts
Ability to develop sophisticated models, tools, and processes for risk identification and prediction of potential losses
Knowledge of designing mitigation and recovery strategies, such as tailored interventions and payment plans
Proficiency in policy and process development, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations
Experience in cross-functional collaboration with teams like Fraud, Product, Engineering, Analytics, Legal, Finance, and Seller Support
Skills in defining KPIs, monitoring performance, and reporting on risk exposure, mitigation effectiveness, and financial impact
Innovative mindset for continuous learning, innovation, and fostering collaboration

Responsibilities

Define and execute the overall strategy for identifying, assessing, and mitigating credit risk for Etsy merchants
Develop a comprehensive roadmap for the Credit Risk Vertical, aligning with broader Trust & Safety and company objectives
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of risk analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration
Manage team performance, career development, and hiring for the Credit Risk Vertical
Develop and implement sophisticated models, tools, and processes to identify merchants at risk of non-payment and assess creditworthiness
Design and implement effective strategies to mitigate credit risk exposure and minimize financial losses, including tailored interventions and payment plans
Collaborate with internal teams on recovery efforts for at-risk merchants
Establish clear policies, procedures, and guidelines for managing seller credit risk, ensuring compliance
Partner closely with Trust & Safety teams (e.g., Fraud, Account Integrity and Security), Product, Engineering, Analytics, Legal, Finance, and Seller Support
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for credit risk, monitor performance, and provide regular reporting to leadership on risk exposure, mitigation effectiveness, and financial impact
