Machine Learning Engineer - Autonomous Driving

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our driverless technology company. This role involves the research, design, and development of new machine learning solutions and algorithms to advance autonomous driving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Explore, prototype, validate, and iterate on new algorithms and strategies for autonomous driving systems.
  • Drive efforts to optimize, supervise, and refine the on-road performance of production models.
  • Serve as a technical leader within the department, guiding current and future technology choices.
  • Evaluate the business and operational impact of technology tradeoffs to ensure alignment with company needs.
  • Develop design and code that is easily extendable and contributable, enabling other engineers on the team to be more effective.
  • Influence others and build consensus, even in contentious technical debates.
  • May telecommute.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two years of work experience as a Software Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or a related occupation.
  • Background, education, or experience must include:
    • Machine Learning and Classification
    • Machine Learning Frameworks, including TensorFlow and PyTorch
    • Mathematical Reasoning and Probability
    • Programming in C++ or Python
    • Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS), OpenCV, or PCL
    • Autonomous Driving Technologies, including Control, Perception, and Planning Systems
    • Cross-Team Collaboration

Compensation

  • Expected Base Compensation: $134,000 - $234,000 Annually
    • Actual base compensation will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
