Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of public accounting or internal audit experience, preferably in a SOX-compliant, publicly traded company
  • Strong understanding of internal control frameworks (COSO), SOX 404 requirements, and audit methodologies
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Intacct, NetSuite, Workiva, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of GAAP and proficient in working with large data sets
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively across teams
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and process improvement
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Certifications: CPA, CIA, or progress toward certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute testing of key controls over financial reporting, including walkthroughs, test of design, and test of operating effectiveness (SOX Compliance)
  • Support the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of internal controls, partnering with process owners across departments
  • Assist in the annual SOX risk assessment process and help identify control gaps, process inefficiencies, and areas for improvement
  • Plan and perform operational and financial audits to assess compliance with company policies and procedures, ensuring control effectiveness and operational efficiency
  • Prepare clear and concise audit documentation, test results, and summary reports for management, the Audit Committee, and external auditors
  • Partner closely with Accounting, Finance, IT, and other business functions to coordinate control testing, remediation efforts, and ensure consistent compliance across the organization
  • Contribute to automation and optimization initiatives to streamline control testing and enhance internal audit efficiency
