The Runtime Platform Pillar is responsible for the operating environments, underlying services, infrastructure, observability systems, and gateways that power Wealthsimple's workloads and services.

The Infrastructure Team, within the Runtime Platform Pillar, focuses on providing efficient, scalable, and reliable infrastructure. This includes managing Kubernetes platforms, cloud governance and architecture, networking services (including Istio Service Mesh), and supporting tools.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Infrastructure Developer, you will:

• Lead key Infrastructure projects: This includes planning, scoping, and regularly communicating progress to stakeholders to ensure quality and timelines.
• Develop and continuously improve code and infrastructure: Deliver highly performant, efficient, and reliable platforms that support clients and developers.
• Collaborate with product and platform engineering partners: Deliver simple, scalable infrastructure solutions that meet current and future business needs.
• Improve infrastructure delivery: Stay current with industry trends, implement new tools and best practices, and focus on testing and automation.
• Participate in the hiring process: Help shape the growth of the Engineering team.
• Join our on-call rotation: Support and maintain critical systems, demonstrating expertise and commitment to platform reliability.

Requirements

What you bring:

• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go. Experience building against Kubernetes and Cloud APIs is a plus.
• Experience or interest in leveraging LLMs and AI tools to boost productivity and efficiency.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills in Terraform, Cloudformation, or similar.
• Strong experience working with:

  • Datadog
  • Cloud Networking
• Solid grasp of the security fundamentals associated with these technologies.
• Collaborative and open communication: Experienced in delivering clear, concise, and solution-focused messages to cross-disciplinary teams.
