The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, and have at least 5 years of experience in HPC and AI solution technologies, including knowledge of CPU’s and GPU’s, high-speed interconnects, and supporting software. Strong expertise in Linux (Redhat/CentOS and Ubuntu) networking, including sockets, firewalls, iptables, wireshark, and OS-level security, is required, along with experience with Windows networking and protocols such as TCP, DHCP, and DNS. Familiarity with multiple storage solutions like Lustre, GPFS, zfs, and xfs is also necessary, as is Python programming and bash scripting experience. Comfort with automation and configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet/chef is expected, and experience with virtual systems like VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, or Citrix is desired.
This Senior HPC AI Cluster Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale HPC/AI clusters, managing Linux job/workload schedules and orchestration tools, developing and maintaining continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and deploying monitoring solutions for servers, network, and storage. They will troubleshoot and fix issues at various levels, from bare metal to application, and serve as a technical resource, developing methodologies for internal teams. The role also involves supporting research and development activities, engaging in POCs/POVs, and working with scientific researchers, developers, and customers to improve workflows and develop differentiated solutions. Furthermore, the engineer will automate deployment and management, enabling self-service resource consumption, and interacting with HPC, OS, GPU compute, and systems specialists to architect and develop performance platforms.
