Mapping & Localization Engineer
Serve Robotics- Full Time
- Junior (1 to 2 years)
Candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience in visual or optical navigation system development for aerospace or defense applications, demonstrating expertise in vision-based navigation techniques such as visual odometry, SLAM, and optical flow. A strong understanding of sensor fusion frameworks integrating cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, and other optical sensors is also required, along with experience in developing real-time navigation software for embedded systems and validating it through simulation and flight testing.
As a Senior GNC Engineer, you will lead the development of visual and optical navigation algorithms for UAVs, specifically emphasizing robust positioning in GPS-denied environments. You will design and optimize sensor fusion frameworks, implement visual odometry, SLAM, and optical flow techniques, and collaborate with guidance and control teams to integrate navigation systems into the broader GNC framework. Furthermore, you will create testing and validation frameworks, explore emerging technologies like AI-enhanced visual navigation, and ensure navigation systems meet defense standards for resilience.
