Senior Software Engineer II- Backend (Fully Remote)

Candidates should have 6-10 years of experience as an engineer with a proven history of working across the stack, primarily backend, and building products at scale. They should have extensive experience with web technologies, a strong understanding of accessibility and security compliance, and experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests. Proficiency with code versioning tools, such as Git, is also required.
The Senior Full Stack Engineer II will work in the backend space (40%) while tackling work full stack as needed to support projects with frontend-oriented goals (10%), plan complex multi-team projects with stakeholders and guide execution and delivery (20%), own the team’s technical, execution, goal setting, and prioritization practices (20%), and mentor software engineers across the organization (5%). They will also go beyond the team to impact the domain’s practices, gain a deep understanding of what Alma providers do, how they operate, and where their pain points are, design, develop, and implement maintainable and scalable product features using front and back end web technologies (Python, Django, MySQL, React, Typescript), develop both provider-facing and internal-facing features around scheduling, eligibility, and billing, and collaborate with Alma managers, PMs, and designers to conceptualize and build solutions for practical problems facing Alma providers, ensuring applications and services meet Alma’s standards for software including performance, scalability, and security.
