Proven experience as a Frontend Software Developer
Experience with React, React Native and TypeScript
Deep care and focus on operational excellence
Inquisitive mindset: desire to learn new skills, ability to ask questions, and openness to new ideas and perspectives
Proactive communication skills and willingness to work directly with designers, product managers, and other collaborators to focus on quality, testing, system design, and building iteratively
Experience in and desire to mentor fellow developers through pairing, code review, and in-the-moment feedback
Experience with GraphQL (Apollo) and optimizing performance (nice to have)

Responsibilities

Work with a full-stack engineering team and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Operations to expand Options trading strategies and provide more ways to explore and trade Options on web and mobile platforms
Learn Wealthsimple’s foundations, goals, technology, architecture, and current projects through onboarding, pair-programming, and sessions within 1 month
Learn the technical stack, apply development patterns and best practices, participate in on-call rotation, contribute to products, query data for impact measurement, and ship first project or feature within 3 months
Reliably ship new features following best practices (daily shipping, automated tests, monitoring), contribute to or lead technical design of projects, understand impact on future architecture, collaborate with developers, mentor, and provide continuous feedback within 6 months
