Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship)
  • Willingness to work or travel on non-standard work-days when needed
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electromechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation products and software tools, or equivalent industrial automation products (preferred)
  • 5+ years experience in the design of industrial automation control systems and/or related application experience (preferred)
  • Leadership capability in applications of the different areas of automation systems including the interaction of mechanical, fluid, pneumatic, and electrical systems (preferred)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or other modeling software tools (preferred)
  • Familiarity with electrical standards NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 79, and/or UL508A (preferred)
  • Technical writing and presentation skills (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of technical tasks with minimal direction
  • Analyze customer's requirements to determine the optimal control system solution and applicable hardware and software control configuration/architecture
  • Perform conceptual hardware & software systems design, determination of control system strategy to meet customers' requirements while complying with industry codes/standards and assure that personnel/machinery safety practices are implemented
  • Perform software development and design of custom application software
  • Oversee integration of 3rd party hardware and control systems
  • Write technical specifications and project reports as required
  • Visit 3rd party suppliers and/or panel shops to assess progress, provide technical assistance and carry out inspections
  • Lead the technical planning and direction of internal and customer system testing
  • Take ownership of issues, capable of engaging all levels of the organization to drive issues to resolution
  • Provide on-site control system commissioning as required
  • Function as the sole Lead Technical Engineer on small to mid-size projects and provide technical oversight to other engineers on the project team
