Requirements
- Expertise in handling and ensuring smooth running of furnaces, troubleshooting, and maintaining product quality standards
- Knowledge of heat treatment processes, including development of new HT processes, proving new parts, and installation of new equipment
- Proficiency in microstructure analysis, metallurgical inspection, metallurgical testing, and failure analysis of parts
- Understanding of CQI-9 and other customer requirements
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams (CFT: Quality, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Customer Support)
- Experience in production planning, manufacturing activities, deburring, polishing, and shot peening for chain parts
- Skills in establishing best practices, new product development in metallurgy, and continual improvement for quality and productivity
Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth operation and monitoring of furnaces with rated output using QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) approach
- Adhere 100% to production plans for furnaces, polishing, and shot peening, preventing line stoppages due to material shortages
- Support manufacturing activities related to heat treatment, new chain parts development, establishing new processes, and installing new equipment
- Establish and validate deburring and polishing processes for various chain parts
- Prepare and communicate technical reports on heat treatment process/system improvements using global expertise
- Perform microstructure analysis, metallurgical inspections, testing, and failure analysis
- Coordinate with CFT teams for continual improvement in quality and productivity
- Participate in new product development metallurgy and establish best practices from other plants
- Support maintenance activities for heat treatment and polishing machines
- Troubleshoot and make decisions in emergency situations for furnaces and related production equipment
- Follow and implement CQI-9 and other customer requirements
