Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum
  • Skilled in developing durable heavy-structure designs that consistently meet engineering and performance requirements
  • Proficient in using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to simulate and analyze structural behavior under various load conditions, optimizing designs for durability and efficiency
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to provide and guide technical solutions by advising others and resolving issues with subject matter experts
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members to enhance technical competence and promote effective, business-aligned solutions
  • Knowledge of collaborating with suppliers to optimize designs for ease of manufacturability (Product Design - MFG)
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and quality assurance, to align design objectives with manufacturing capabilities
  • Experience developing and evaluating product improvement plans for senior management, ensuring designs meet functional requirements and incorporate customer feedback
  • Ability to advise and train teams on advanced tools, design methodologies, and product functionality across multiple initiatives
  • Ability to oversee complex design processes by coordinating resources, managing costs, and aligning outcomes with business goals
  • Experience creating innovative and effective design solutions that fulfill product functional requirements (Product Design and Development)
  • Ability to conduct thorough analysis and selection of materials to ensure product durability, performance, and cost-effectiveness, considering factors like strength, weight, and environmental impact
  • Experience establishing organizational standards and introducing innovative techniques to streamline complex product and service development

Responsibilities

  • Create design concepts and drawings of complex structural systems that meet functional and technical requirements, cost and weight goals, quality initiatives, and manufacturing process requirements
  • Perform fatigue analysis on the concept using Creo Simulate
  • Support validation activities such as test and field trials
  • Support and lead APQP activities
  • Collaborate with external suppliers and internal manufacturing facilities, engineering partners, and the core Product Group
  • Drive New Product Introductions (NPI), collaborate on New Supplier Introductions, and spearhead Continuous Product Improvements (CPI)
  • Ensure products remain at the pinnacle of excellence and maintain high standards
