Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering
  • 4 years of experience in Electrical Engineering Protection and Controls
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license
  • Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Clean driving record (required for use of company vehicles)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, CDEGS grounding software, AcSELerator Quickset, Enervista, CYMCAP, SKM, LitePro, ETAP (preferred for some or all)

Responsibilities

  • Designs new and interprets new and existing one-lines, panel elevations, AC/DC/Communication schematics, relay panel wiring diagrams and equipment wiring diagrams
  • Performs and checks battery sizing calculations
  • Writes and checks material list descriptions for electrical equipment
  • Checks drawings for conduit, grounding, control buildings, electrical arrangements, outdoor lighting and equipment manufacturing
  • Reviews test reports, relay settings, coordination studies and load flow studies
  • Demonstrates integrity and ethics in all client relationships and communications
  • Answers technical questions posed by construction managers, field staff, project managers, customers and their representatives
  • Recognizes and recommends methods to improve every customer’s experience
  • Performs other studies (short circuit, load flow, cable ampacity, etc.) as able and required
  • Travels periodically to both customer offices for project meetings and to job sites for construction visits and testing
  • Manages day-to-day activities of schedule and design of projects assigned
  • Coordinates and problem solves between design teams and departments
  • Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
  • Interacts professionally with other employees and customers
  • Works effectively as a team contributor on all assigned projects
  • Communicates regularly with supervisor regarding designs, concerns, studies or tests
  • Participates in continued education and training
  • Adheres to and practices the Beta core competencies and Beta principle
  • Maintains check print set of all work performed
  • Utilizes the department EET’s in an effective manner to get all work accomplished on time and correctly
