Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience working within AAA game cinematics and/or the VFX/Animation Industry
  • Experience with Houdini, 3ds Max & Nuke in a professional environment (Game Studio, VFX/Animation Studio)
  • Experience with Maya, VRay, Redshift, Zbrush, Mudbox, Speed Tree, GrowFX, Forest Pack, World Machine, Gaea, Photoshop, Substance and Quixel Studio
  • Well-rounded generalist skillset with emphasis in traditional and digital art fundamentals (image composition, perspective, lighting, texturing, color theory)
  • Robust understanding of cameras, lenses and how they affect shot composition
  • Ability to work independently from provided shot concept
  • Ability to effectively communicate about the work being produced
  • Ability to effectively communicate with artists, supervisors, and production to highlight concerns while offering solutions

Responsibilities

  • Create, extend, project, and/or improve environment shots using a combination of 2.5D and 3D Digimatte skills, workflows, and methodologies
  • Develop 3D assets involving Look Dev (modeling, sculpting, texturing, baking LODs, and lighting) to execute final rendered shots of various artistic styles
  • Integrate and composite 2D photo references and 3D rendered elements together to achieve finished photo-real rendered frames
  • Collaborate with team members in the execution of an element of, or an entire finaled shot
  • Manage complex scenes and optimize them for maximum render efficiencies
