Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, textile design, or related area and 3 years’ experience in apparel design, garment (inferred from incomplete text)
  • Expert with extensive experience in women’s swimwear within a successful commercial space
  • Strong understanding of swim market and trends
  • Exhibit organization and clear communication to thrive in a high-paced work environment with an advanced multi-track calendar

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the product line from initial concept to garment production
  • Lead and communicate trends, colors, print and pattern, fabric and key products of the season
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement and execute design concepts while ensuring the timely execution of each stage in the process
  • Drive success within a multifaceted organization, ensuring your team is connected and up-to-date in PD, Fit, Merchandising, Raw Materials, Sourcing, Color and Textures, Planning, Product Education, etc
  • Lead, collaborate, brainstorm, and co-create concepts, seasonal direction, and design as both a leader and a mentor
  • Effectively communicate visual point of view via digital mood boards, decks, and inspiration
  • Collaborate with Merchants to harmonize commerciality with innovation; understand the importance of running a high-volume business, closely monitoring sell-through, and reacting to market shifts and consumer trends
  • Design and execute industry-leading styles that reflect Walmart’s design ethos and meet our customers’ needs
  • Demonstrate a sharp understanding of pattern, movement, and technical construction to communicate effectively with Fit, PD, factories, and 3D teams
  • Attend fittings and participate in construction reviews, considering aesthetics, function, and cost/IMU of garments
