Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electromechanical or similar)
  • Advanced English level
  • Experience of 5 years in similar position
  • Experience in failure modes for electrical wiring harnesses, electrical connectors, wiring harness protection (slaves), manufacturing process for wiring harness

Responsibilities

  • Create engineering solutions for wiring systems, working with cross functional teams: supplier, manufacturing and Design Teams
  • Lead PDT meetings to achieve and deliver engineering solutions with quality and on time, including applying best practices knowledge to design solutions
  • Complete risk analysis using DFMEA and work with suppliers and assembly plants to support PFMEA
  • Design, validation, and execution of assigned wire harness and cable assemblies, including all sub-components
  • Design, integration of the assigned harnesses/cables within the vehicle architecture
  • Provide direction to UG Designers
  • Meet program deliverables and imperatives per the PDS PDT Key Task Scheduler
  • Execute root cause and problem resolution of vehicle or component development or validation issues
  • Understand Electrical Schematics and systems interaction to other devices through ICDe process
  • Set priority and urgency for Engineering Change Requests, Problem Resolution, and Development / Validation Plans
  • Complete warranty reduction efforts on current product programs
  • Support all virtual and physical build events
  • Travel as required
  • Interface with Lead DRE and Technical Specialists on design direction
  • Lead discussions with program teams on design and execution in leadership forums
  • Provide complexity & cost reduction ideas as a direct interface with marketing, program management, purchasing and suppliers
  • Optimize a comprehensive and detailed plan to validate the assigned component to its technical requirements
  • Facilitate validation coordination with supplier validation representatives within the PDT meeting
  • Track the execution of component hardware validation and facilitate approval with SMEs as needed
  • Document test failures in PRTS
  • Ensure DV and PV are completed on time to the validation milestones
  • Ensure all test documentation is completed by Validation Documentation Complete milestone and complete validation action plan or 3660 in support of launch
  • Work with cross functional teams to create engineering solutions for wiring systems for automotive applications
  • Lead technical reviews with key stakeholders: design, supplier and manufacturing engineering; ensure engineering solutions include latest recommended guidelines and are robust to assembly process
  • Create solid execution plans to develop the engineering solutions, considering overall program milestones and build events
