Requirements

Candidates should possess at least 5 years of proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale backend production systems, along with experience building and maintaining data-intensive applications. They should have experience with data processing technologies such as Spark, Flink, EMR, and Iceberg, as well as data warehousing frameworks like Snowflake, Hive, Glue, and Databricks Unity Catalog. Professional proficiency in English and experience working with AWS or other public clouds are also required.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain foundational infrastructure and key applications to enable effective data utilization for internal users, utilizing modern technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Apache Spark, Elasticsearch, AWS, and Kafka. They will expand and optimize Forter’s data warehouse and lakehouse, modeling data and defining storage strategies to ensure intuitive access for researchers, and enhance Forter analysts’ web application to provide in-depth insights. Furthermore, they will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and other engineers, debug complex problems across the stack, and self-manage project planning and milestones while maintaining a high standard for production systems and their associated tests and monitoring.
