Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Complex Claims Adjuster with experience in handling pre-litigated property claims to join our expanding team. This role involves managing structure, dwelling, and contents claims, with a particular focus on larger losses and represented claims.

Our insureds can submit claims online or by phone. You will provide support and solutions for structure damages, ranging from daily water claims to total losses. This position requires close collaboration with public adjusters, attorneys, and vendors, as well as the ability to examine and interpret policies accurately. You will guide customers through challenging times and educate them on their policies and coverage.

A Day in the Life May Include:

  • Examining and interpreting insureds’ policies, forms in force, and other records to determine coverage and extent of company liability.
  • Drafting, approving, and adjusting estimates of damage and loss amounts using Xactimate and Xactanalysis.
  • Conducting investigations, including taking recorded statements, consulting with police and fire departments, inspecting property damage, and reviewing documentation.
  • Estimating the cost of repair, replacement, or compensation, and ensuring the adequacy of reserves.
  • Maintaining clear, concise diary notes, setting field assignments, managing contacts, and issuing payments.
  • Applying knowledge of multiple state statutes, insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Negotiating with attorneys and/or public adjusters to achieve fair and equitable settlements.

Necessary Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of first-party property claims adjusting experience working directly for a carrier.
  • Direct experience working with attorney and public adjuster represented claims.
  • Vendor management and negotiation experience.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate/Xactanalysis.
  • Strong technical acumen, including experience with Excel, Snapsheet, Slack, and CRM systems.
  • Exceptional customer service ability, with experience guiding individuals through difficult situations.

Bonus Points:

  • Understanding of the litigation process.
  • Prior deposition and/or mediation experience.
  • Familiarity with Civil Remedy Notices (CRN) & Notices of Intent (NOI).
  • Working knowledge of insurance laws, good faith practices, timelines, and compliance in multiple states.
