Responsibilities

The Senior Cloud Architect (Network) is responsible for the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to cloud network & cloud computing. This role provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s) and possesses highly skilled, broad, advanced technical experience.

The individual in this role will lead Humana network infrastructure implementation for Google Cloud.

The Senior Cloud Architect (Network) performs technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications for cloud network and cloud computing environments. Develops specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Works with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise-wide functional strategies. Advises one or more areas, programs, or functions and provides recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance, acting as an advanced subject matter expert competent to work at very high levels in multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise.

This role will have a particular focus in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.

The Senior Cloud Architect (Network) develops and evaluates cloud network performance criteria and measurement methods. Prepares the analysis of short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling. Conducts cloud network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops alternative cloud routing scenarios and changes in the required sequence of network activities. Conducts economic and population growth studies to determine the impact on cloud network capacity and development plan projections.

Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to more complex issues regarding the technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Performs on-call and implementation duties on nights and weekends as required.

Humana is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect (Network) who will deliver solutions for Multi-Cloud network connectivity. This is a critical role within Humana’s IT organization responsible for the engineering and design, planning, implementation, and establishment of operational and maintenance programs to deliver best-in-class next-generation cloud network infrastructure. This includes optimizing all aspects of the cloud network ecosystem, including performance, resiliency, availability, resource utilization, and innovation.

This person will provide cloud network design, engineering, and administrative support of both physical and virtual networking devices within our Multi-Cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure. This person will be responsible for leveraging state-of-the-art networking technologies, including virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN), to develop and deliver a robust, scalable, cloud network ecosystem.

Requirements

Must be a US Citizen and pass an eQIP certification background check.

Required Qualifications:

• BS/BA, preferably in a technical or scientific field.
• 5+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and supporting large-scale cloud network infrastructure, with advanced experience designing enterprise cloud network solutions.
• Cloud certifications:
  • Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect + Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Network Engineer
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert + Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate
• Network engineering certification such as CCNA through CCNP or the equivalent.
• 8+ years of tech
