Position Overview

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Channel Account Manager to join our successful EMEA Channel Sales organisation, focusing on the Germany Region. This role is crucial for developing, driving, and executing strategic sales plans with key resellers. The position reports into the Director, Channel Sales SEUR & DACH and will manage several German resellers.

Requirements

  • Proven success as an experienced Channel Account Manager, or similar role, within the German market.
  • Ideally, experience in the cybersecurity market and technologies, with up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technical developments, and governmental regulations affecting target markets.
  • Innovative and outcome-based approach, always seeking competitive advantage and positive results for Proofpoint and partners.
  • Outstanding presentation skills and the ability to lead customer discussions to advance the sales process.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple teams to achieve organizational goals (inside sales, renewals, systems engineering, sales management).
  • Experience in developing and presenting plans and activities to all levels of management.
  • Ability to grow partner status to higher partner levels and increase commitment.
  • Ability to train partners to qualify target accounts and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Channel sales strategy to recruit, enable, and develop targeted resellers, service providers, and other organizations.
  • Define and execute business plans, including Quarterly Business Reviews, to deepen traction with partners.
  • Assist in driving pipeline, sales qualification, and closing of business.
  • Meet NARR (New and Recurring Revenue) quotas and achieve partner Deal Registration and pipeline generation targets.
  • Maintain regular interaction with partner stakeholders, executives, sales, and sales management teams.
  • Conduct regular sales training presentations with partner sales teams to ensure they can articulate and position Proofpoint's value proposition.
  • Oversee relationship building and account mapping activities between the Proofpoint sales organization and partners in the region.
  • Collaborate with the Channel Marketing Team to drive marketing programs with key partners, ensuring activities tie back to successful ROI.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Proofpoint's solutions and competitive positioning in the marketplace.
