Requirements

Candidates should have typically 8+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer or in a similar software engineering role, ideally supporting data or ML systems. They must have hands-on experience building distributed systems, GraphQL and RESTful APIs, and/or microservices architectures. Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language like Python, Go, Java, or Scala is required, along with experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with AI storage solutions such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, object storage, and data lakes is necessary, as is knowledge of security, privacy, and compliance principles in distributed/cloud environments. Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and infrastructure-as-code is also expected.

Responsibilities

The Senior Backend Engineer will architect, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs for AI-driven products and features. They will build scalable infrastructure for machine learning model training, deployment, and monitoring, and integrate third-party AI/ML solutions while optimizing system performance. Key duties include implementing security, compliance, and data privacy best practices for AI workflows, collaborating with ML engineers and data scientists, developing testing frameworks and monitoring tools, participating in technical design reviews, and debugging production issues across services.
