Requirements

Candidates should have at least 4 years of experience building and shipping scalable backend systems. A strong proficiency in Python and backend frameworks is required, along with experience designing and working with RESTful APIs and databases such as PostgreSQL and AWS RDS. A strong understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and deployment best practices, including managed services and CI/CD pipelines, is essential. Candidates should also possess deep knowledge of scalable system design and performance optimization, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The Senior Backend Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs. They will architect and implement efficient data structures and models, optimize and improve system performance, scalability, and security, and debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues in production environments. The engineer will collaborate closely with frontend engineers to build seamless API integrations and ensure system reliability by implementing observability, monitoring, and logging best practices. They will work independently and collaboratively to solve complex technical challenges and advocate for best practices in documentation, testing, and maintainability.
