As an Engineer in a high-growth company, you will play a crucial role in both technical implementation and shaping our technology roadmap, focusing on building a powerful user experience that differentiates Roofr.

Responsibilities

  • Drive backend architecture to the next stage of Roofr’s systems.
  • Work within a fast-paced, cross-functional team that emphasizes best practices.
  • Contribute to an engineering-first culture in an early-stage company.
  • Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle, from planning to delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to define technical requirements.
  • Write clean, reusable code for functional web applications and libraries.
  • Develop unit, functional, and acceptance tests.
  • Troubleshoot and support production applications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Proficiency in PHP and the Laravel framework.
  • Champion of agile methodologies, comfortable with frequent and confident code shipping.
  • Proven ability to break down complex problems into incremental solutions.
  • Proactively recommend initiatives to improve engineering technologies and culture.
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative environment that fosters mutual growth.
  • Take ownership of the product and pride in work quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and an appreciation for good documentation.
  • Understanding of the challenges and priorities of an early-stage company.
  • Preferred Skills: DevOps, Big Data / Data Science, Machine Learning, GIS.
