Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-3 years of work experience in non-profit development operations or similar work, and/or event planning with increasing levels of responsibility and measurable results
  • All candidates must be within commutable distance of SEO’s offices at 55 Exchange Place, New York, NY 10005, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operations lead for the organization’s Annual Awards Dinner, supporting Development leadership team and key stakeholders (SEO staff, leadership, board volunteers, external consultants) in planning and execution
  • Support the Awards Dinner and other special events, including donor stewardship and cultivation activities
  • Contribute to annual Development team goals (e.g., $22M+ revenue) and development operations goals (e.g., accurate/timely reporting, transmittals, data entry, acknowledgments)
  • Lead operations for Annual Awards Dinner revenue tracking
  • Prepare regular revenue progress reports and collaborate with Senior Director, Development on high-level progress reports and comparisons to previous years
  • Oversee Annual Awards Dinner event trackers, ensure accuracy, enter pledges, track honoree/dinner chair/board solicitations, and prepare status reports
  • Collaborate with Senior Director, Development and Awards Dinner team to develop strategies for advance solicitations and outreach
  • Develop best practices for managing multiple Awards Dinner solicitation and prospect lists
  • Oversee, organize, and maintain all Awards Dinner solicitation lists and progress reports
  • Lead prospect research for confirmed Awards Dinner guests (table placement) and VIPs (engagement)
  • Generate and review Awards Dinner Committee listings
  • Prepare all Development department acknowledgment letters for donors/sponsors and maintain digital files
  • Prepare contribution statements and invoices for sponsors
  • Approve and transmit all Awards Dinner pledges to Finance department
  • Process vendor invoices and provide necessary documentation
  • Attend Awards Dinner team meetings and serve as liaison to event consultants for operations aspects
  • Respond to sponsor inquiries for documentation and coordinate with event consultants for sponsor ads, logos, and listings
  • Manage other Awards Dinner details, including on-site needs
  • Assist with other special events (e.g., alumni events, Leadership Reception) with preparations and on-site support
  • Coordinate special appeals and other projects as requested
