Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited university required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent field preferred
  • 4 to 7 years of experience as a Heroku Release Engineer, Heroku administration, development, release management or DevOps
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of Heroku best practices and functionality
  • Experience on Heroku administration such as managing applications, dyno management, resource optimization, Connect DB mapping, DB maintenance etc
  • Experience of working closely with Service Delivery teams and project teams to manage shifting schedules, articulate and manage tasks, dependencies, task durations and risks in a timely manner
  • Experience with CI/CD Tools, GIT source control, VS code IDEs, branching and merging strategies/resolving conflicts and DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, GIT
  • Heroku Certified Developer, Architect preferred
  • ITIL Foundations v4 certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, audit, monitor, execute and enforce established release management processes and policies in support of Heroku deployments for multiple applications deployed on Heroku cloud
  • Perform and facilitate the promotion and deployment for the Heroku based applications (EIM, RepSuite, myFlex) using a variety of metadata
  • Manage release schedules, milestones and communications throughout initiatives across all Heroku development and support teams
  • Assist with cross-project planning to oversee dependencies and solve conflicts. Identify risks during code conflict, merging and make sure to deploy quality code in production
  • Own and maintain version control repositories and CI/CD pipelines on Bitbucket and Azure DevOps. Possess good knowledge on GIT commands and Changeset deployments
  • Define and enforce Heroku sandbox management practices, to include periodic refreshes. Know how to package and deploy metadata components, knowledge on release branching strategies, code merging and conflict resolution strategies
  • Stay attuned to new features and capabilities available within upcoming Heroku Platform releases. Research new platform releases, plans for and performs the components upgrades in timely manner
  • Evolve use of the Heroku Platform to ensure it is reliable, efficient and cost effective
  • Execute the deployment of configuration including metadata, record data, and manual configurations throughout Heroku landscape
  • Manage, execute and optimize the release process, Heroku deployment tools, and sandbox strategies
  • Guide best practices around Heroku environment management while executing a release strategy
