Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in production AI/ML work, strong programming skills in Python, and familiarity with ML/AI frameworks and cloud infrastructure (AWS, CDK). Experience with fine-tuning, evaluation frameworks, and deployment of LLMs or agentic systems is required, along with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and demonstrate initiative in research. Preferred skills include experience leading AI projects, building AI agents and deploying them to production, and building multimodal GenAI systems.

Responsibilities

The Senior AI Engineer will design and implement evaluation systems and tooling to validate Oura’s custom AI models and Advisor, and develop novel evaluation methods to measure grounding, reliability, and actionability of LLM and agentic systems. They will build and optimize custom AI models through fine-tuning, knowledge distillation, and quantization, partner with Product and Engineering teams to balance research with practical impact, and lead initiatives to reduce dependency on external AI SaaS providers and accelerate model development.
