Responsibilities

  • Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare internal and external financial reports
  • Maintain or oversee the control of accounts and records in areas such as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income
  • Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy
  • Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statements; prepare and consolidate financial statements and other accounting schedules and reports
  • Design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure adequate recognition of financial transactions
  • Ensure adherence to and communicate accounting and auditing policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Handle month-end close (may be responsible)
  • Provide technical support and accounting for M&A activities (may be responsible)
  • Oversee technical accounting research for complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards (may be responsible)
  • Manage people, including mentoring, developing, and coaching staff to meet/exceed performance expectations and objectives
  • Provide leadership to staff, ensuring prioritization of strategic and department-level initiatives, defining performance goals and targets
  • Conduct performance reviews and staff 1:1s to guide performance management and employee development efforts toward departmental goals
  • Oversee area of responsibility, manage performance, develop talent, foster engagement and inclusion, communicate business and operational developments, plan, prioritize, and direct responsibilities of direct and/or indirect reports
