Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration, or a related field, along with over 8 years of general accounting experience in public accounting or a private corporate environment. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, data modeling, charts, and various formulas like SUMIF(s), COUNTIF(s), and nesting, are essential. Proficiency with accounting systems, particularly NetSuite, is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities are required. The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines autonomously, and communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-accountants is also necessary. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required during close cycles.

Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for leading complex accounting processes, maintaining internal controls, and driving improvements in financial reporting. This includes understanding and investigating variance thresholds, researching new situations, and applying accounting judgment to make recommendations on reserves, assets, and expenditures. The role involves documenting and monitoring internal controls for audit readiness, implementing checks and balances, and identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation. Key duties include performing complex account reconciliations, ensuring alignment with GAAP, pulling and analyzing supporting reports and financial statements, and coordinating accounting projects. The Senior Accountant will execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, manage sales commission calculations and reporting, and assist with quarterly and annual audit preparation.
