Requirements

  • Ph.D. in scientific discipline preferably in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry with 1-2 years’ post-doctoral or Industry experience
  • Experience working with and/or establishing differentiated iPSCs
  • Excellent sterile technique and ability to establish and maintain various cell culture systems including primary and immortalized cell systems
  • Working knowledge of molecular biology (e.g., RT-PCR, qPCR, RNAseq) and gene editing techniques
  • Experience in protein quantification and analysis methods such as Western blot, ELISA, MSD
  • Exercises independent judgement within defined procedures and practices
  • Demonstrates technical proficiency and collaboration in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment
  • Detailed and expert knowledge of scientific principles and concepts
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work on complex problems to produce experimental data across projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (preferably MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) and basic statistical analytical methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • With guidance from advisor, plans, initiates, directs, and executes scientific research and experiments, interprets and communicates results as part of multi-disciplinary teams, including analyses of primary research literature
  • Presents findings internally to cross-functional teams
  • May provide scientific advice to research leadership on projects and areas of expertise
  • Abides by all safety and regulatory guidelines and company SOPs
  • Maintains a detailed laboratory notebook
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
  • Interviews and contributes to the evaluation of candidates
  • May participate in the development and writing of patent applications
  • Contributes to general lab needs such as equipment maintenance, capital equipment purchases, and troubleshooting
