Requirements

  • Lead, manage, and be accountable (LMA) for direct reports
  • Perform roles and responsibilities as listed on the Accountability Chart for Safety Manager
  • Drive a safety culture promoting Incident and Injury Free (IIF) Performance
  • Provide effective Safety and Health support to project teams to achieve Forgen objectives
  • Assist Regional Safety and Health Manager with program and policy development/administration for IIF commitment and compliance
  • Identify safety training opportunities, program gaps, and develop plans per federal, state, and local agencies
  • Create and implement safety and health policies to address gaps/deficiencies
  • Deliver training, mentoring, and coaching to project teams and Safety and Health team
  • Work with Operations teams to develop safety and health practices
  • Engage proactively with project managers and supervisors on safety practices
  • Evaluate field operations, including emergency response, for safety/health improvements and risk control
  • Provide statistical data and safety/health performance narratives to leadership
  • Provide regular, reliable data for monitoring Safety and Health performance
  • Help create, improve, and comply with project Health and Safety Plans (HASPs)
  • Ensure Forgen Safety and Health requirements are understood and implemented consistently
  • Apply hazard identification and risk assessment processes at sites, ensuring control measures reduce risks to ALARP
  • Participate in development and review of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
  • Ensure Safety Observations, inspections, training data, project info, and incident reports are entered in Safety Mojo
  • Promote Safety and Health awareness via new hire orientation, safety training, and IIF campaigns
  • Conduct incident and near-miss investigations, develop reports, and follow up on corrective actions
  • Participate fully in compliance audits, inspections, and project meetings
