Requirements

  • Lead, Manage and be Accountable (LMA) for direct reports
  • Perform roles and responsibilities for Safety Manager as listed on the Accountability Chart
  • Support selected projects, including high-profile and/or high-demand projects
  • Engage fully in Forgen’s Incident and Injury Free (IIF) Commitment Journey
  • Conduct and coordinate project audits
  • Develop project Health and Safety plans (HASPs)
  • Supervise and support Safety and Health Supervisors/Technicians
  • Conduct training

  • Communicate information, lead, coach, and train all levels of employees in safety and health compliance, policies, and best practices
  • Conduct air sampling and monitoring
  • Complete/review permits
  • Execute related duties as required by the environment and contract
  • Develop consistent best practices and policies

Responsibilities

  • Drive a safety culture promoting Incident and Injury Free Performance
  • Provide effective Safety and Health support to project teams to achieve Forgen objectives
  • Assist Regional Safety and Health Manager with development and administration of programs and policies advancing IIF and safety compliance
  • Identify safety training opportunities and program gaps; develop plans per federal, state, and local agencies
  • Create and implement effective safety and health policies to strengthen existing ones and address gaps
  • Deliver training, mentoring, and coaching to project teams and Safety and Health team
  • Work with project Operations teams to develop practices supporting safety and health initiatives
  • Engage proactively with project managers and supervisors to ensure understanding and adherence to safety practices
  • Evaluate field operations, including emergency response procedures, for safety, health, and risk control improvements
  • Provide statistical data and safety/health performance narratives to leadership
  • Provide regular, reliable data for monitoring Safety and Health performance
  • Help create, improve, and comply with project Health and Safety Plan (HASP)
  • Ensure Forgen Safety and Health requirements are understood and implemented consistently
  • Apply hazard identification and risk assessment processes at project sites; ensure appropriate control measures reduce risks to ALARP
  • Participate in development and review of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHAs)
  • Ensure Safety Observations, inspections, training data, project info, and incident reports are entered in Safety Mojo
  • Promote Safety and Health awareness via new hire orientation, safety training, and IIF campaigns
  • Conduct effective investigations of incidents and near misses; develop reports and follow-up corrective actions
  • Participate fully in compliance assurance activities
