Kairos PowerInternship
Internship
Candidates must possess proficiency with thermal-hydraulics analysis and hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a technical field such as nuclear, mechanical, or aerospace engineering. Experience with systems-level analysis codes like SAS4A/SASSYS-1, SAM, RELAP, TRACE, or GOTHIC, as well as reactor transient analysis methods, is highly recommended. Fluency in Python is required. Experience building formal safety bases is also a key requirement.
The Safety Analysis Engineer will design and develop analyses for Oklo's reactor systems' safety bases, incorporating them into license applications. Responsibilities include reviewing regulatory documents and codes, developing technical strategies, executing engineering analyses, conducting modeling and simulation, and crafting documentation. This role involves collaborating with other engineers on design and licensing deliverables, performing safety analysis using quantitative and qualitative methodologies, developing safety bases, establishing facility requirements, managing licensing projects, developing analytical and computational methods, and documenting work through technical reports.
Develops advanced fission power plants
Oklo develops advanced fission power plants that utilize a unique approach to the fission reaction, ensuring safety and enabling the use of nuclear waste as fuel. Their main product, the Aurora reactor, generates up to 15 megawatts of power and can run for over 10 years without refueling, making it both cost-effective and environmentally friendly. Oklo distinguishes itself from competitors by focusing on recycling nuclear waste and providing energy solutions for a variety of clients, including industrial facilities and remote communities. The company's goal is to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy while transforming the nuclear energy sector.
