Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent; an advanced degree in a related field is welcome
  • 3+ years of experience in ESG research, with either a background in ESG Controversy Research or expertise in the FINANCIALS SECTOR
  • Experience in monitoring and assessing companies within the FINANCIALS SECTOR is an advantage
  • Strong research skills with an emphasis on fact-based insights and analysis, including the ability to write well-prepared research and accurate assessments aligned with a standardized proprietary methodology
  • Effective reading skills to consume daily news literature, curiosity to learn and work on the latest ESG controversies involving companies
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective critical and analytical thinking
  • Collaborative attitude across different locations and willingness to contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing our ESG product
  • Preferred: Strong grasp of governance and social risk factors specific to the FINANCIALS SECTOR
  • Preferred: Technical skills to support efficient system development, artificial intelligence initiatives and proven presentation and communication skills with senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Create a sound assessment of ESG Controversies based on MSA's proprietary methodology
  • Monitor and read news on corporate controversies daily, particularly in the FINANCIALS SECTOR
  • Write a well-prepared narrative providing relevant details of the controversy that will be sent to companies for their review and input
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to finalize the assessment and score to be presented to a group of senior leaders for implementation
  • Support the writing of periodic reports of a company's involvement in MSA cases
