Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent experience in technical areas such as statistics, programming languages, machine learning, computational neuroscience, cognitive science, physics, or mathematics. Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality scientific research is essential, evidenced by publications, technical reports, or software projects. A passion for solving real-world problems and making a positive societal impact is also required.
The Research Scientist will develop and explore computational theories of intelligence, focusing on reasoning, learning, and decision-making. They will collaborate closely with domain experts to tackle scientific and societal challenges, distill insights into general mathematical and computational theories, and develop and maintain open-source software. Optionally, they may publish and present findings in journals and conferences and contribute to the culture and direction of Basis.
