Requirements

  • Full-time availability for on-site position at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Cavazos, TX
  • Ability to pass a thorough government background check
  • Expertise in physical therapy, including treatment planning, evaluation, and modification for rehabilitation
  • Knowledge of research protocols, data collection, and analysis in clinical trials
  • Familiarity with telehealth delivery of physical therapy
  • Adherence to OSHA, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and infection control procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Principal Investigator (PI), research team, participants, and funding organizations

Responsibilities

  • Administer physical therapy treatment programs, including planning, coordination, controlling, direction, and evaluation for the research study
  • Plan and develop physical therapy treatments, procedures, and programs
  • Observe patient responses to treatment and modify programs to accelerate recovery
  • Make recommendations on staffing, physical plant design, and distribution of physical therapy equipment
  • Record all pertinent data in patient medical records
  • Determine and implement policies and procedures for physical therapy programs and activities
  • Determine requirements for physical therapy services, including personnel, equipment, supplies, and continuing education
  • Establish professional care standards and appraise performance levels of subordinates as needed
  • Develop and implement teaching programs and research activities related to physical therapy
  • Conduct data acquisition, biomechanical data reduction, and analysis
  • Prepare and submit progress reports and data deliverables
  • Author and/or co-author publishable documents
  • Evaluate patients and determine type and frequency of physical therapy treatment for study subjects
  • Evaluate and implement treatment regimens and create clinical databases to enhance outcomes for military personnel (including amputees)
  • Make recommendations on braces, prostheses, and appliances for study subject mobility
  • Participate in hiring, training, and supervision of research personnel as applicable
  • Oversee subject recruitment and enrollment as needed
  • Conduct research subject visits as directed
  • Collect data and complete data entry
  • Prepare interim and final progress reports
  • Document all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of research records
  • Perform duties to comply with and implement research study protocol
  • Provide support to PI and research team through data gathering, collection, analysis, preparation of publications, and presentations
