Full Stack Web Developer (Contractor, Full-Time)

Position Overview

Our organization is seeking a skilled Full Stack Web Developer to create effective user interfaces on client websites. This role involves utilizing PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a focus on the WordPress Gutenberg Editor, Drupal, Joomla, Laravel, and other LAMP Stack CMS and Frameworks. You will collaborate closely with our Graphic Design and Consulting teams to build full websites, single pages, and on-page solutions based on provided mockups. The ideal candidate will be adept at troubleshooting issues across various CMS and Frameworks and will be responsible for developing innovative solutions to enhance website visual appeal, usability, and accessibility.

Core Objectives

• Support and learn a variety of different techniques to stay at the cutting edge of web development.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of dynamic web development in PHP and familiarity with programming against database platforms like MySQL.
• Develop custom themes and plugins using PHP for multiple CMSs.
• Provide a customer-friendly, consultative approach, engaging directly with clients and developers via phone and email to effectively solve problems.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in PHP (versions 7.X - 8.X)
• 3 years of experience with WordPress, including Gutenberg functionality and using ACF for custom Blocks.
• 10 years of front-end development experience.
• Solid frontend skills with HTML & SASS/SCSS.
• Leadership experience and project management.
• Experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
• Docker experience.
• Linux experience.
• Fluency in English.

Skills & Competencies

• At least 3 years of recent experience building websites with WordPress, including using and customizing the Gutenberg Editor with either REACT or ACF built blocks.
• Familiarity with specific hooks and filters to modify content during saving and for display.
• At least 6 years of experience working in core PHP, demonstrating up-to-date knowledge of features and deprecations in PHP 7.X - 8.x.
• Required skill sets: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SASS, PHP, WordPress, overall creative web design process with the ability to follow brand standards.
• MySQL, Git, XML, JSON, Drupal, and Joomla are essential.
• React, Angular are nice to have.
• An interest and general understanding of programming, along with a willingness to learn new skills and resolve technical/programmatic problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) for a collaborative global environment.

Company Information

Brafton has offices based in Boston, Sydney, and London. This role is a 100% remote, full-time contractor position, with holiday pay and a notice period. You will be reporting into a US-based team leader.
