Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license in the state of practice (Upon Hire)
Minimum of 2 years of Obstetric inpatient (Labor and Delivery/Fetal Heart Monitoring) experience
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work rotating shifts: days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (PRN, as needed)
Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily (reasonable accommodations may be made)

Responsibilities

Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends
Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and pertinent information to the health care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers
Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining patients; documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and social factors; conferring with family and friends
Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instructing patient, family, and friends on condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions; providing information and resources
Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes; reviewing patient records; noting changing conditions; re-evaluating and modifying care objectives
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration/storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, policies, and legal regulations
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
Maintains patient care equipment by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items
Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership
