Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) - active license in the state of practice upon hire
ONS Fundamentals Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society within 1 year or ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society within 1 year
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work specified hours (PRN, day shift)

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends
Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating nursing care plans, coordinating with healthcare providers, and conferring with physicians
Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions, conferring with family and friends, establishing diagnoses, objectives, interventions, schedules, and timetables
Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals, instructing patients, families, and friends on conditions, medications, and self-care skills, answering questions, and providing resources
Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, noting changes, re-evaluating objectives, and modifying care plans
Maintain safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by following infection-control policies, medication procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, policies, and legal regulations; alerting others to concerns
Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records
Maintain patient care equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs
Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items
