Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Board of Nursing - active license in the state of practice upon hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care to patients and families
Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure excellent patient care
Perform general nursing care to patients
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic
Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing
Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider
Oversee appointment scheduling, ensure preferences for emergency situations, and maintain timely patient flow
Greet patients, prepare them for physical examination, screen for appropriate information (health history, vitals, nursing assessment), document in patient chart, and instruct on sample collection
Respond to patient phone calls timely with physician input
Educate patients and families on diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, health, and wellness maintenance
Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints
Maintain exam rooms with supplies and materials, ensure cleanliness, and prepare lists of needed medical supplies
Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens per lab protocol, perform quality control, and maintain records on lab testing
