Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Board of Nursing - active license in the state of practice upon hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations if applicable without undue hardship
Preferred: 1-3 years experience working in a clinical environment

Responsibilities

Delivers nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re-evaluating care objectives
Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating nursing care plans and pertinent information to the health care team, coordinating with other providers, and providing support to patients, families, and friends; conferring with physicians
Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and social factors; conferring with family and friends; developing diagnoses, objectives, interventions, schedules, and timetables
Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals, instructing patients, families, and friends on conditions, medications, and self-care; answering questions; providing information and resources
Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing records, noting changing conditions, re-evaluating objectives, and modifying care plans
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration/storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, policies, and legal regulations; alerting others to potential concerns
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
Keeps patient care equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing/expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items
Maintains competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership
