Adheres to Organization Compliance Program, regulatory and Organization policy requirements
Supports organization quality standards through regulatory/accrediting body requirements and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) practices
Maintains competency with all emergency operational procedures, including CPR and emergency measures
Complies with organization, company, federal, state, and local regulations for administering medications, IV moderate sedation, and point-of-care laboratory testing
Practices in compliance with state regulations for additional tasks designated by physician
Operates facility equipment and technology (e.g., patient monitors, defibrillators, medical recording devices, sterilizers, computers) safely and efficiently
Inspects operation of facility equipment and reports malfunctions/maintenance needs

Responsibilities

Provides direct nursing care pre, during, and post procedure under direction of Facility Manager, Director of Nursing, and/or Charge Registered Nurse, utilizing standard nursing techniques
Supports and drives organization quality standards, implements quality goals and action plans, addresses adverse events, maintains medical/administrative records integrity, complies with data collection/auditing, and ensures facility environmental integrity/safety
Obtains medical history, discusses procedure/answers questions, performs nursing assessment on procedure day, provides post-procedure education to patients/family, monitors patient condition (especially for moderate sedation/contrast media), acts as patient resource, communicates issues to management, and completes accurate documentation from admission to discharge
Confirms written orders, consents, and lab work; prepares/delivers lab requisitions; reports/forwards lab results to physician
Administers medications and IV moderate sedation per physician orders
Acts as scrub technologist during procedures, maintaining sterile technique
Assists with patient workflow by transporting patients, performs IV insertions, and point-of-care lab testing per physician orders
Provides regular/effective communication with physicians, participates in CQI meetings, assists with verifying instruments/equipment, and helps complete/report adverse events
Assists physician during procedures as needed
