Requirements

  • 1 year of refrigeration experience (anhydrous ammonia) required, RETA 1 license preferred but not required
  • Must have Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
  • Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance, including Pneumatics, PLCs, Motor controls, and shop equipment operation desired
  • Understanding of boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics required
  • Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and pass the training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
  • Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop
  • Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling
  • Frequent overhead work
  • Ability to work in temperatures from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees inside the plant; outside work required
  • Basic math skills: percentages, fractions, and measurements

Responsibilities

  • Performing and consulting on robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs
  • Expertly performing emergency mechanical or electrical repairs and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment
  • Provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems
  • Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment
  • Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals
  • Assist and support the training and development of more junior Refrigeration Technicians
  • Participate on the Emergency Response Team
  • Responsible for minimizing downtime due to equipment and system failure
  • Other duties as assigned
