Requirements

  • 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician
  • TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications
  • EPA 608 (Type 2 or Universal) & EPA 609 Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to travel and attend training provided by US Foods
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs
  • Independent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools
  • Ability to perform physical demands: continuously stand/walk; frequently drive/sit/lift/carry/push/pull/climb/balance/stoop/squat/kneel/bend/reach/twist/grasp/manipulate/manually dexterous; occasionally lift/carry over 100 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.)
  • Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards
  • Mentor other maintenance shop personnel
  • Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action
  • Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines
  • Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
