  • Ability to use crane, forklifts, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment
  • Ability to drive tractor-trailer or other vehicles (as necessary)
  • Ability to read and interpret job procedures, instructions, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to maintain records and reports
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify discrepancies
  • Ability to follow safety regulations

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, handle, locate, count, record, and deliver purchased, fabricated, in-process stock, supplies, tools, or equipment
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Spot check incoming material for defects
  • Move material to and from machines and workstations
  • Load scrap trucks
  • Update company databases with stock locations
  • Perform general material handling duties
  • Arrange loads for proper space utilization and weight distribution
  • Block and secure loads to prevent shifting or damage
  • Maintain work areas and vehicles in a clean and orderly condition
  • Follow prescribed driving procedures and vehicle operator checklists
  • Participate in team activities and problem-solving sessions
  • Communicate problems and solutions to team members
  • Document production data
  • Assist other team members
  • Troubleshoot problems
  • Train and instruct other operators
  • Evaluate defective material and tooling
  • Advise and recommend alternatives
  • Ensure work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
