Requirements

Supervise R&D Assemblers and R&D Technicians in manufacturing pre-commercial medical devices in a clean room environment
Train and supervise employees
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Manage time and attendance
Maintain high visibility and access to employees throughout the shift
Work closely with R&D engineers to support experimental builds across multiple projects using provided documentation
Retain responsibility for various pre-commercial products from initial prototype assembly through design verification
Communicate regularly with R&D project teams and other functions to support planning, managing, and executing operational objectives
Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming products to determine root cause
Estimate materials, tools, and supply requirements and coordinate fulfillment

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain department standards for safety, productivity, reliability, and accuracy
Troubleshoot work problems with employees, convey a sense of urgency, and drive issues to closure
Participate in developing new procedures and processes to improve manufacturing during the development phase
Manage staffing through coaching and development, employment decisions, and resolving employee issues through problem resolution
Develop direct reports by securing appropriate training and assigning progressive responsibilities
