Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 - 4 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Aerospace quality management system experience (AS9100D) and/or internal audit experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in mechanical inspection methods and skills including surface plate work, hand tools, and gages
  • Solid ability to read and understand drawing requirements including a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance to ANSI Y14.5
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to fill out necessary flight test documentation
  • Ability to document any/all non-conformances encountered
  • Skills necessary to perform pre and post-flight visual inspections on flight hardware and components
  • Skills necessary to remove and replace field replaceable components on aircraft
  • Ability to populate Excel spreadsheets on a daily basis documenting flight test results
  • Valid California driver's license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Process inbound or outbound FAI and deliverable submissions accurately and timely, including receipt and analysis of parts/documentation, completion of records/logs, communication of status, processing parts, and maintaining records/files
  • Conduct selective inspection under QE direction, including receipt/verification of material, documentation, communication of results, and processing material using Agile/Oracle database
  • Process internal non-conforming material, including retrieval/analysis, interpretation of findings, restatement of problem statements, processing through NC processes, communication of status, documentation, and processing to suppliers
  • Provide general support to QEs including communication, Corrective Action Request processing, product evaluation, sorting activities, and interfacing with team members for continuous improvement using A3, Six Sigma DMAIC forms
  • Lead and facilitate problem-solving activities such as Fishbone, 5-Why, Fault-tree
  • Plan and coordinate QA Technician I and II activities and provide general guidance
  • Support DCMA Source Inspection process
  • Create Final Inspection documentation package including COC, TDRs, and support internal/external customer inspection as necessary
  • Represent and support QEs during internal and 3rd party audits regarding essential functions, measurement systems, and documented systems
  • Develop and maintain process instructions for quality-related activities
  • Work on moderately difficult assignments requiring judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations
  • Represent the Quality Department in witnessing and documenting UAV flight acceptance test activity
  • Other duties as assigned
