Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar quality, manufacturing, or engineering technician role
  • 3-5 years of practical application of GD&T standards in an automotive, commercial, or aerospace manufacturing facility performing surface plate based or similar dimensional inspection
  • Proficiency using a wide range of measurement tools
  • Ability to interpret part drawings, material, and engineering specifications
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and industry best practices
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, ISO16949, ISO31000)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Six-Sigma, Lean, TPS exposure preferred
  • Attention to detail and deep commitment to continual improvement
  • Effective verbal, written, and digital communicator
  • Highly collaborative, with firm team-building approach
  • Experience with process capability tools and/or statistical analysis (preferred)
  • Ability to write part inspection programs using PC-DMIS/Hexagon software (highly desired)

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and tests on incoming materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, such as hard gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, hardness testers, and CMM’s to conduct efficient and accurate part measurement
  • Assist in the validation and verification of new product designs and manufacturing processes
  • Utilize existing problem-solving skills perpetually in contribution towards continuous improvement efforts in our manufacturing and assembly areas
  • Perform detailed process audits and drive targeted improvement actions through coaching of others or direct ownership of the resolution
  • Provide technical support to engineering and production teams to ensure compliance to quality standards
  • Maintain accurate and timely data and other records for work performed
  • Where skill gaps exist, learn through training or OJT, processes such as calibration, CMM programming, and quality system auditing
