Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Quality Assurance is ideal; however, years of service in similar roles demonstrating capabilities could be substituted
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Quality field with at least 5 years in a Leadership Role
  • Experience in LNG liquefaction facilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on design specifications, material selections, and fabrication techniques for pressure parts to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry codes, including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), ASME B31 series for piping, and API standards
  • Review and approve quality-related documents, such as Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Material Test Reports (MTRs), welding procedure specifications (WPS), and welder qualification records
  • Act as a technical liaison between the project team, engineering, vendors, third-party inspectors, and Authorized Inspection Agencies (AIAs)
  • Oversee and, when necessary, perform inspections of pressure parts at various stages, including during vendor fabrication, field installation, and commissioning
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for resolving complex quality issues related to non-conforming pressure parts, including fit-up, welding, and non-destructive testing (NDT)
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to approved quality procedures and regulatory standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project's quality management system (QMS) as it relates to pressure-retaining equipment
  • Initiate and lead investigations into non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits of vendors and contractors to assess their compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to quality inspectors, engineers, and other team members on the specific quality requirements for LNG plant pressure parts
  • Reinforce a strong quality and safety culture across all project phases
  • Lead the qualification process for new pressure-part suppliers. Conduct on-site audits and maintain audit schedules. Evaluate supplier performance against defined KPIs
  • Develop and track KPIs (e.g., defect rates, on-time delivery, aging, etc.) and present weekly, monthly and quarterly performance dashboards to senior leadership
  • Ensure all pressure-part suppliers comply with ASME B31.3, B31.1, ASME I, II, V, VIII, IX, and other relevant codes. Review contractor inspection and test plans, procedures, and documents to confirm alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards
  • Perform rigorous document reviews on behalf of the end-user/owner to verify contractor inspection and test plans, procedures, and related documents against project requirements and applicable codes
  • Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, and other units to align supplier quality with project and product requirements
