Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or product testing in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of roofing materials such as asphalt roofing shingles, metal roofing, underlayments, etc. and the relevant standards for these products such as North American building codes, ASTM, CSA, UL, FM, etc. (asset)
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, 8D, MSA)
  • Experience with mechanical, thermal, and environmental testing methods
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and technical documentation

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of quality systems and procedures (Internal audits, CAPAs, etc.) for residential asphaltic/metal roofing product lines
  • Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventative actions in collaboration with manufacturing plants
  • Analyze quality data and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee product and process validation, including test method development and statistical analysis
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and regulatory teams to ensure product compliance and customer satisfaction
  • Mentor and train junior quality engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams on quality best practices
