Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience working in the machining industry
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T) concepts
  • Intermediate computer skills – including proficiency of basic operating systems and ability to quickly learn computerized quality documentation systems
  • Previous experience working with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and/or indicators preferred
  • Specific machinist training as provided in a technical school, junior college or military curriculum preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspects products, piece parts, incoming materials, assemblies, etc. using basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges and/or indicators
  • Documents and reports non-conformances to specifications using computerized quality documentation systems
  • Follows documented processes and procedures to ensure conformance to quality standards
  • Works with appropriate group to verify inspection equipment is suitable, calibrated, and operational as required
